HENI is an international arts services business working with leading artists and estates across publishing, print-making, digital, film, art research. We focus on the individual artist and their work, offering art services including printing and reproduction, digital management, events, logistics, fine art photography, digital artwork creation and a recently launched online art trading platforms for both physical art and NFTs.
The Role
The Financial Controller is a hands-on and autonomous position focused on ensuring accurate accounting information is produced in a timely manner, ideal for a finance professional experienced in working for mid-sized owner-managed businesses.
Key responsibilities include:
- Management of small team (Management Accountant and two AP/AR Specialists)
- Ensuring financial accounting is accurate and up to date for production of audit packs, including reconciling crypto ledgers, transactional analysis coding, inter-company transactions and VAT analysis.
- Application of financial procedures and controls, including ongoing monitoring of all supplier accounts, production costs and recharging of expenses.
- Oversight of preparation of Management Accounts for principal UK entity, and production of Management Accounts for other companies within the group where required.
- Production of other detailed sales analysis and reporting when required.
- Advise on and support various projects, including setting up accounting procedures and bank accounts, advising on VAT issues, etc
The ideal candidate profile:
- Qualified accountant or finalist (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with at least 10 years’ experience, ideally with experience in working in SMEs owner-managed businesses.
- Highly numerate with excellent technical knowledge and strong Microsoft Excel skills and working knowledge of PowerBI.
- Good understanding of VAT in the UK and working knowledge of European VAT
- Experience with multiple accounting packages (Sage 50 and 200).
- Experience with working with online sales platforms (WooCommerce/Stripe)
- Organised with an ability to prioritise workload, have good attention to detail and meet tight deadlines.
- Able to build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Proactive with a hands-on approach, able to use initiative to find information.
